Lori is a passionate educator, advocate, and leader with deep personal and professional experience in early childhood development and disability support. As the first teacher in Step by Step’s ECS program and now Executive Director since 2020, she has helped shape the organization’s family-centred approach and guided its growth with compassion and vision.

A former elementary school teacher with the Calgary Board of Education and the parent of a child with cerebral palsy, Lori brings unique insight and expertise to her role. She is dedicated to making Step by Step a safe, empowering place for families navigating a new diagnosis and ensuring children receive critical early intervention when it matters most.

Lori's commitment to children has extended beyond Step by Step to other projects over the years – partnering with CanLearn Society on Wordplay – Reading in Action, a literacy program for early elementary students, supporting at-risk youth through Aspen Family Services, and developing a respite experience for teens with disabilities. Outside of work, Lori enjoys skiing and biking with her family in Panorama.
