    Position Summary

    We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will work with children with diverse needs at our centre and in their homes to promote their independence, development, and participation in daily activities. The role offers full time hours from September - June and flexible, part-time hours during the summer months when our centre based program is not in session. This role would start no later than September 2024 with the option to begin earlier on a part-time basis.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, play skills, and social interaction within the therapeutic scope of our organization.

    • Modify strategies to meet the varied needs of the children, families, and other members of the team

    • Use standardized tests, clinical observations, and interviews to gather information about children’s functional abilities and challenges.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessment results, goals, strategies, progress notes, and year end summaries.

    • Provide education and training to staff, families, and caregivers on therapeutic activities and strategies to facilitate progress.

    • Collaborate with other members of the team, including teachers, speech-language therapists, physiotherapists, and behaviour strategists, to coordinate care and ensure a multidisciplinary approach.

    • Communicate effectively with team members, families, and caregivers to provide support, guidance, and feedback.

    • Participate in team meetings, and educational activities to exchange knowledge and enhance the quality of care provided.

    • Ensure hour tracking is current and accurate.

    • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and advances in pediatric occupational therapy through continuing education, workshops, and professional conferences.

    • Maintain license and certification requirements, adhering to ethical standards and guidelines set forth by professional organizations such as the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) Provide evidenced-based in-home intervention and consults with a family-centered care approach

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy

    • Registered member, in good standing with the ACOT.

    • Specialization or experience in pediatric occupational therapy preferred

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and a multidisciplinary team.

    • Exceptional organizational skills.

    • Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to positively impact the lives of the families we serve.

    • Valid Alberta driver’s license, access to a vehicle during work hours, and willingness to drive to homes throughout Calgary.

    • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check Master's in occupational therapy

    • Active ACOT registration

    • Recent vulnerable sector police information check

    Job Type

    Hourly - full time Sept-June with flexible, part-time hours Jul-Aug.

    $50 - 60 per hour.

    Position Summary

    We are currently accepting applicants for a speech-language pathologist a to work in-home with clients that are accessing services through Family Supports for Children with Disabilities (FSCD). Clients span in age from 2-7 years with a range of diagnoses, including but not limited to, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, and Rett’s syndrome. Services are provided in Calgary.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide evidenced-based in-home intervention and consults with a family-centered care approach

    • Communicate and collaborate effectively with an inter-disciplinary team

    • Apply clinical expertise and professional competence in managing case loads, intervention, consultation, meetings, and documentation

    • Work within the parameters of FSCD model

    • Timely submission of invoices

    Qualifications

    • Master's in speech-language pathology

    • Active ACSLPA registration

    • Recent vulnerable sector police information check
