Kids Up Front was founded 24 years ago after a man named John Dalziel went to a game at the Saddledome and saw many empty seats. He knew so many kids in Calgary would love the chance to sit in those seats if given the opportunity. That is when the idea for Kids Up Front was born. Since then, the organization has grown immensely, with locations in Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa and Halifax.

Kids Up Front connects with a wide variety of charitable agencies, schools and government organizations in Calgary and throughout Southern Alberta to distribute tickets, classes and passes to kids and families who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to attend these events or who are facing other barriers.

Since 2000, they have distributed over 676,000 event tickets valued at over $24 million to deserving kids and youth throughout Calgary and Southern Alberta.

Step by Step Early Intervention Society is thrilled to be a community agency with Kids Up Front.

As a community agency we are able to request tickets for our kids and their families as they become available. The tickets Kids Up Front receives include sporting, arts, recreation, local events, attractions and more! A few examples include the Calgary Flames, Hitmen, Roughnecks, Alberta Ballet, Storybook Theatre, CPO, the Calgary Zoo, TELUS Spark, etc.

If your family is interested in being the recipient of tickets please click below to submit a ticket interest form. The ticket interest form is to get a general sense of what your family would be interested in, your availability and the number of tickets required. At the end of the form there is a spot to make special requests for a speicfic event or date.

As the name suggests, Kids Up Front is a child focused donor program. The number of child versus adult tickets you request should reflect this focus. Ticket requests with a disproportionate number of adults to children will not be accepted by Kids Up Front. If a family has 1 child and both caregivers wish to attend that is fine.

Please note the completion of a ticket interest form does not guarantee tickets to any event. The allocation and availability of tickets for any event lies with Kids Up Front. Once we know your family’s interests we will put in requests on your behalf. We will contact you directly if we have successfully obtained tickets, at which point you still have the option to turn them down if you can’t use them.

If you are fortunate enough to be the recipient of tickets, we kindly ask that you provide us with a thank you card to pass along to Kids Up Front on your behalf.

They also appreciate photos they can use on their social media. If you have photos of your family at an event that you are willing to share publicly please send them to us as well.
