Parent and Caregiver Courses

  • Circle of Security™

At times all parents feel lost about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security™ parenting program is based on decades of attachment theory and other psychological research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. This 8-week course is delivered with the underlying principle that all caregivers want, is what is best for their children.

Step by Step offers this unique and exciting course to families a couple of times each year. Delivered by certified Circle of Security™ facilitators, this is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents, reflect on and grow in your parenting journey.

    • Support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions

    • Enhance the development of your child's self-esteem

  • Caring for the Caregiver

The Caring for the Caregiver course is built around Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT), a mindfulness-based approach designed to help individuals manage life's challenges. ACT encourages participants to connect mindfully with their values and move forward in ways that are loving, respectful, and compassionate.

Parents often find themselves consumed by worries about the future, regrets about the past, and blaming themselves or others. This can make it hard to enjoy the present moment and connect meaningfully. ACT teaches how to embrace the moment, treasure your child for who they are, and cultivate compassion — both for yourself and others. It also helps you identify your core values and take purposeful action toward them.

    Learning Objectives of the Program

    • Recognize the signs and sources of caregiver stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue

    • Identify practical strategies to support personal well-being

    • Enhance mental health and well-being through experiential learning alongside other caregivers

    • Develop simple reflection and self-care strategies to feel empowered

Summer session dates will be announced soon. If you would like to be notified about our next session, please submit a Parent/Caregiver Course Inquiry
