Our Classroom Team

Our early intervention team embraces a collaborative approach, bringing together certified teachers, developmental aides, behaviour strategists and therapists. Together they deliver intentional, goal-oriented support to each child that establishes a strong foundation for growth and development.

  • Teacher

Our certified teachers oversee instruction and ensure programming is in alignment with Alberta Education curriculum while infusing best practice accommodations to support the developmental needs of our classroom. Teachers work together with a child’s therapy team and parents/guardians to form an individualized program plan (IPP) that supports the unique needs and goals of each child. Progress updates on these goals are communicated regularly.

  • Classroom Lead

Our classroom leads plan and implement educational activities and structure daily routines to support children’s developmental goals. They collaborate with teachers and therapists to effectively implement behaviour, learning, and therapeutic strategies based on IPPs, and provide parents/guardians with a snapshot of daily activities.

  • Developmental Aide

Paired with a specific child or small group of children with similar needs and goals, developmental aides guide children through play-based activities and daily routines. They implement learning, behaviour, and therapeutic strategies to support progress towards each child’s individual goals.

  • Speech Therapist

Our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) help children with communication difficulties to improve their speech, language, and social skills.  SLPs will use the child’s interests to engage with them while implementing communication techniques and strategies, including various forms of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

  • Occupational Therapist

Our occupational therapists (OTs) help children develop skills needed for daily tasks through play-based and interactive activities. They focus on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing and regulation skills, and self-help skills children need to participate fully in school.

  • Physiotherapist

Our physiotherapists (PTs) help children build strength, coordination, balance, and motor skills essential for sitting, walking, and play. Using exercises that target specific muscle groups, they address children’s unique movement and motor challenges to build physical confidence and independence.

  • Behaviour Strategist

A play-based, positive reinforcement approach is used to encourage engagement in non-preferred tasks. Targeting emotional regulation, social skills, communication, and self-help, our behaviour strategists work collaboratively with our therapy team to ensure consistent support.

  • Conductive Education Therapist

Using an integrated approach that develops a child’s physical, social, and cognitive skills together, our conductive education therapist helps children build motor control, strength, and balance needed for many daily living skills and activities.

  • Music Therapist

Using rhythm, melody, and interactive instruments, our music therapist creates engaging sessions that encourage children to express themselves, develop communication, and strengthen coordination. Music-based interventions help develop emotional, social, and motor skills while building confidence and connecting positively with others in a safe and creative environment.
